Camp chores: gathering, filtering water - Always Ants
Join me in the Oregon forest as I show you one of the camp chores I deal with on a weekly basis: gathering and filtering my camp water, in September 2022.
At least once a week, if not more often, I have to deal with this process, and while it can be tedious and sometimes annoying, the fact that I provide my own water off grid and for free, without needing municipal infrastructure or retail water is a satisfying act of self-reliance that cancels out the negatives of the chore.
Using a prefilter means less filter purging, and gathering water with the least amount of particulate means less prefilter cleaning as well. Be sure to not accidentally contaminate your main water container with splashes, and be sure to always have at least one backup water treating system. I have two!
