Gear Review: Northside sandals, Part 3 - Riverside Lite 100 mile update - Always Ants
Join me in camp as I take a look at the condition of my Riverside Lite sandals from Northside after 100 miles of trail running, in January 2023.
As I expected, and actually before the 100 mile mark, one of the attachment lugs broke. I knew this would happen, as this attachment method for sandals is prone to breakage. The outer edge of the sole is wearing faster than the inner part, which is not good. As it diminishes, the lugs are more and more exposed and therefore more likely to be broken.
All gripes aside, I've not been bothered by them during this running so my initial assessment of comfort remains unchanged.
I aim to update their state at the 200 mile mark, and the Riverside II model at their 3-month mark. After that, a longer-term update, likely during or after summer, is on the agenda.
