YOGA 10 minute warm-up to standing
10-minute Practice: Gentle warm-up to standing
How do you start your asana practice? or how do you start your day?
Before you dive into the dynamic practice of Sun Salutations, or before you jump out of bed and run out the front door why not take time to slowly awaken your body and gift yourself 10 minutes to gently ease yourself into the day.
On the Tribe yoga teacher trainings we have the luxury of long 3.30hrs morning practice. The asana session generally begins with 25 - 35 minutes warm-up. It's the time to enjoy the feeling of being in your body cultivating sensitivity and awareness. It's the time to connect to the breath and begin to synchronize the body with the breath. It's the time to establish a slow and unhurried flow, patiently and lovingly inviting the body mind and breath to work harmoniously together. It's the time to move with appreciation and gratitude for the new day!
Even if you don't have time for along leisurely practice a few minutes yoga stretching in the morning is a great way to start your day.
In this video Tribe founder Scarlett shares a 10 minutes practice of simple movements to move from sitting to standing. From there you are ready to start your day or move onto the dynamic practice of Sun Salutations.
Enjoy your practice :)
