This mobility piece is to release the elevator scapula, rhomboid, and trap. Tightness, tenderness and trigger points often occur in these muscles due to a forward head posture or from rounded shoulders. This piece can be pretty tender so ease into it. You will need a lacrosse ball or a tennis ball for this one. Remember to breathe deeply throughout the movement.

This exercise is to release the elevator scapula. It is usually tight and tender due to posture dysfunction. I have seen this on numerous occasions as being the main culprit of anterior shoulder pain. To do this, you will need a lacrosse ball or a tennis ball. To start, lay on your back on the ground and lay back so the ball is between your shoulder blade and spine - in that meaty section of the upper back, as you see in the video. Next, left your hips off the ground and move your arm around in different ranges of motion. You can also move your head and neck around. Remember to breathe! Do this for 2-3 minutes per side.
