Shoes and orthotics cause our feet to become rigid. When our feet are rigid, we lose the ability to absorb shock the way we were created to. The shock travels up the body and we start to feel it in our knees, hips and backs. This mobility exercise helps to improve the function in the feet.

This is one of my favorite exercises, especially after a long day on my feet. This exercise is great if you have rigid feet. This one increases the mobility in your feet and ankles. Sit down and cross one leg over and rest it on your knee. Interlock your opposite hand and fingers with your foot and toes. Place your other hand around your ankle to stabilize it. Gently twist your foot with the hand that is interlocked with the toes. Slowly twist back and forth, holding for a second or two at the end of each motion. Spend 2 minutes per foot. If it causes pain, stop immediately.
