Just about everyone I come across has some sort of breathing dysfunction. This can be a cause of a lot of pain, restriction or lack of flexibility. In this video, I will show you how to release your diaphragm (breathing muscle). After doing the release in this video, do a breathing exercise such as tactical breathing at 4-4-4-4 intervals.

Just about everyone I come across has some sort of breathing dysfunction. Often times, the amount of stress we have on us causes us to breathe through out neck and chest, hold our breath or breathe shallow. Our posture also limits our breathing patterns. This exercise helps to open up our diaphragm - which is our breathing muscle. For this move, sit down and curl your fingers behind your lower ribs and apply a gentle pressure up towards your head. You can rest your wrists on your thighs and lean into the pressure. Do this for 1-2 minutes while breathing into the pressure. Next rub up and down the sternum for 60-90 seconds looking for any tenderness - these tender areas are neurolymphatic reflexes linked to the diaphragm. Doing this will help to release any tension.
