Sitting kills our psoas muscles creating issues in the lower back and hips. The psoas muscles are often tight and weak. This exercise will help strengthen the hip flexors and take the excessive load off the lower back. BE SURE TO BREATHE THROUGH THIS EXERCISE. Its easy to hold your breath here, but don't do it!

The psoas is a mess on most of us. It is usually tight and weak and causes lower back pain. If you have lower back pain - foam roll the quadratus lumborum then do this exercise. Lay on your back with legs straight. Bring one knee up toward your chest until the knee breaks the waistline. Squeeze your glute on the straight leg and hold. Place your hands on the flexed or bent knee and try to push it back down and resist. Hold for 4 seconds and switch. Do this 4 times. Don't hold your breath.
