What would a countdown sound like, if parts of songs - that are typically not previewed - were used? Well, it would sound something like this countdown...=)
26 times that vistlip's "SINDRA" has appeared on chart, yet this is the first time that part was previewed at all. Tomo's electrified voice brings about an eternity of ecstasy. The same can be said for Alice Nine's "Subete e." The entire song is amazing, but I am particularly fond of that intro. The imagery presented through the lyrics and the PV defines absolute perfection - and I'd love to walk the streets of Paris while listening to that tune some day.
When speaking of lyrics, very few songs have come to impress me as much as ALSDEAD's "In Bloom." I'd highly doubt translated lyrics are available online (since I can't even find the Japanese version online), but to summarize it briefly, it's about everything you lost causing a downpour of emotions, giving life to a flower of misery that shall never wilt. Those lyrics reach perfection through maki's vocals - and the bitter, sarcastic way he conveys it. I've probably listened to this song over 100 times in the past week, and I still can't get enough of it. A true masterpiece, so underrated.
Now, let's talk about the Debuts: starting with A (ACE). I highly praised SuG's "Fukanzen Beautyfool Days" several weeks ago for incorporating the violin into the instrumentals. Well, ACE took that one step further by remixing the piano into the instrumentals. And I must say, nothing defines beautiful music like the use of violin, piano, and harp. I agree with everyone, this song eclipses a level of beauty only attained by few songs in existence.
On to TRICK. A lot of people are hammering the band for using special characters in the band name - and I absolutely agree. It is such a pain in the a** to have to copy and paste the name every time you want to search for info on the band. Other than the name, the band is nothing short of amazing. "Phenomena" is TRICK's first single, and Teru (Drums, ex-VIDOLL) has recently joined.
And then we have KNOCK OUT MONKEY (KOM). This is pure rock at its finest ladies and gentlemen. I will never understand why bands like this do not get any attention.....no, wait, actually, I do. For some unknown reason, KOM decided that it was a good idea to make the single only available at TOWER RECORDS, in limited quantity. I don't know if they had some kind of elusive contract with TR or what, but what's the point of making a PV, uploading it to YT for the whole world to see, and then release the single virtually unavailable to 99.9% of the global population!? You can forget about finding a copy of this online, or in stores, since it's just about impossible to get a hold of one. What a waste of good music....
But all those issues aside, the Indies music scene does feature a lot of good artists. Like STUDS coming up next week - love the minor reggae feel in the instrumentals, and the lyrics about "I believe dreams can come true." Not going to get too much into Previews, but also love the new songs by Awoi and Lustknot. Especially VERONICA - amazing song.
