With 7 Debuts in the Top 10, only the strong will survive.
Let's get straight into it.
Multiple female artists came about and struck a chord in my heart. Aldious continues to impress from day one, with this latest single being the best in overall quality since their debut single back in 2010. LiSA is as amazing as ever. "Rising Hope" - another Anime Opening Theme, as expected - is very upbeat, with natural transitions between the hook and the rest of the song, forming an addiction. Eri Kitamura would be the description of sexy female vocals. I probably listened to "show" a good 15 times in the past week alone - the dark feeling that emerges from her mesmerizing voice activates a sufficient degree of chill to withstand the summer nights. I absolutely love it.
Speaking of summer nights, this is the perfect time of year to listen to R-Shitei's "Last Rain" and MEGAMASSO's "SWAN SONG". With the seemingly endless rain damping the mood, "Last Rain" is the key to nostalgia. "Yanderu Kanojo" is good, but far from topping "Last Rain". The same can be said for "Blind Innocence". The composure is very unique, as with all other MEGAMASSO gems, but far from topping "SWAN SONG". There was something about that song that I crave even two years after the release, but I'm not sure this new song has that quality.
In any case, there are some songs that you listen to without realizing it, and those songs are the ones that stay alive. The 5 songs that either rose or stayed certainly fit that description.
Others that may end up fitting that description include FEST VANINQUEUR's "LIONHEART". This marble would be on par with "Kiseki no Tsubasa" as far as instrumentals and vocals go. It exceeds it in terms of Lyrics, which is absolutely amazing. HAL (Vocals) ranks among my Top 10 favorite song-writers of all time, and "LIONHEART" is one of many reasons why.
It is certainly nice to see DaizyStripper soldier on after the departure of Mayu. "G.Z.S.K.K." marks the first release as a 4-member unit, mixing various emotions into a serious, upbeat, straight-forward rock gem.
Sadie is another artist who continues to output straight-forward masterpieces. While I don't consider "bleach" to be above "cry more", "RED LINE", or even "Rain fall", I genuinely love this style and only wish they'd continue on with it.
Lastly, let's talk about DIV. "Hyouryuu Kanojo" is outstanding. Nothing more needs to be said. No words are needed. Very rarely is a song so mature, so marvelous, and so calming at the same time. It is by far the best release I've heard from DIV to date, and I can only look forward to what more they have to offer in future releases.
