LMN J Music Christmas Song Countdown 2012
Merry Christmas everyone!
In light of the holiday spirit, we now present to you, the Top 10 Christmas Songs of 2012 (J-Music, of course).
Ever since the viewer voting system was activated, we haven't gotten around to cover a lot of J-Pop. While that may be the case, please understand that this is a J Music channel, and J-Pop (idol groups, among others) are fair game.
AKB48 hasn't appeared on LMN J Music since the Final 2011 x 2009 Countdown, others possibly even longer, which means I haven't had an opportunity to talk about them, so I shall do that now.
In my opinion, AKB48 is far overrated than what it should be, but it isn't necessarily bad by any means. Once you look beyond the vile CD-sale-tactics and erotic PVs, the overall music quality is actually quite good. With that said, the only singles that I truly found to be worthwhile after "Beginner" are "Sakura no Ki ni Narou" (2011), "GIVE ME FIVE" (2012) - both graduation themed songs - and maybe "Everyday Kachu-sha"(2011) and "Flying Get" (2011). The other singles have been boring to say the least, but I did like this Christmas themed "Totteoki Christmas".
FLOWER is somewhat underrated. I prefer songs by FLOWER over AKB48, and actually consider FLOWER to be one of the best, if not best, female vocal units (both idol and dance) currently active. "Koibito ga Santa Claus" is another very good song. I've been hearing it around town over the past two to three weeks and absolutely love it.
GACKT's "WHITE LOVER" is outstanding - I'd say it's the best release by GACKT in over two years.
And Mika Nakashima is genuine, quality music (as always). Some of my favorite Mika Nakashima releases include "Life" and "My Will". "Hatsukoi" is now added to that list.
Last but not least - I love the no.2 song.It has such a great melody and gratifying tune that it relieves my soul of agony and distress, almost every single time I hear it. If you want to hear the full song, might I recommend copying/pasting the Japanese artist name listed below since it doesn't seem to come up via roma-ji.
(Note: I made this countdown about a week ago - the ranks are based solely on my opinion/analysis and play count. This is bonus content in light of the holidays - don't take it too seriously, but rather enjoy it.)
