Codomo Dragon's latest gem exceeds every other song released by the band to date. The ill-heart love romance contains lyrics that match that of vistlip, &, ACE, and more. You'd be surprised how amazing it is - only if you could fully understand it.
Equally outstanding is "Valencia to Virginia" by FEST VAINQUEUR. Heartbreak songs are sung day in and day out by a vast majority of J-pop artists, but the same theme done in mature rock come few and far between. This is the exception, and it's absolutely beautiful. FEST VAINQUEUR is one of very few artists who actually practice straight-forward Visual Kei rock - a theme that hasn't changed since the SINCREA days. "LIONHEART" was marvelous. This is just as fantastic.
To top things off, we have ONE OK ROCK. First let me remind you that taka's younger brother did a phenomenal job with "Black Rail" last week. It was an truly amazing song that I wouldn't mind listening to over and over again. And then we have "Mighty Long Fall." This song is in a league of its own. I haven't seen the new Rurouni Kenshin movie yet and don't plan on doing so anytime soon, but I've heard this song more than once. Probably more than 100 times already - at some point, I lost count. The hook is outstanding, sure, but the interval between the second and third verse is what's devouring my heart. Hells f***ing yes it is so awesome I still can't believe what I'm hearing. Without a moment of doubt in my mind, this is the best release by ONE OK ROCK to date.
In other news, DISACODE vocalist and model AKIRA made her solo Debut. Not only is she sexy, she really knows how to compose and sing a great song.
The real story this time around, though, may be the previews.
As you can see, vistlip's "Jack" is finally in line to Debut. At what rank, however, remains a mystery. Every vistlip release dating back to "Hameln" has Debuted at no.1, and every release since "OZONE" has peaked at no.1. I'll be honest - even as a fan, I'm not completely impressed with "Jack." As a result, the aforementioned active streaks may very well be in serious jeopardy.
There are other contributing factors there. For one, Synk;yet released a gem during that same time span - as did SCREW, Matenrou Opera, DIV, Golden Bomber, SID, DIAURA, DuelJewel, Aqua Timez, Plastic Tree, Eir Aoi etc etc. ...you get the idea. I would safely project at least 10-15 Debuts coming up next week, if not more.
