Im Yours ll Five
When I wake up Joe is parking the car outside a huge house. Joe is opening the door for me before I even have the chance to unfasten the seatbelt
“Joe I cant go in there” I whisper
“You can” He says taking my hand helping me out of the car
“Joe please”
“Dem its only my parents house”
“Exactly. Joe I cant go in there. I just cant do it. Your family is very powerful in the business world and its intimidating”
“Why?”
“Because im nothing Joe. Im worthless and they might get the wrong idea”
“I called them last night and the friend I told you about is in there too. She can change your hair if that’s what your really wanting. We have a family dinner tonight so she can do it before then”
“Okay” I nod
“So Joe told me about Jack, he must be a real douche for Joe to bring you here to his family home” Selena says as she puts the dye on my hair
“How much did he tell you?” I ask
“All he said on the phone was that this guy hurt you”
“Oh so he didn’t tell you everything”
“You don’t have to tell me everything”
“Are you and Joe-“
“Oh god no” She laughs “Joe is more like a brother to me. We did go on a date once and it was a laugh but there’s nothing between us romantically. He never dates much though, you’re the first girl he’s brought home”
“Its nothing like that though. Joe is just being a gentleman. I keep telling him to let me go back to Jack after he found out about the beatings he gives” I say remembering who im talking to. Im not talking to Joe, im talking to this girl I don’t know. Joe is the only person who knows what Jack does to me. He doesn’t even know the full extent of what Jack is capable of
“Oh my” She gasps “That’s why he brought you here”
“Yes. Im so sorry, I should not have said anything”
“Demi its completely okay to share anything with me. Id like to think that we’ll become friends”
“Me too but right now I want to go home. I don’t know why Joe is doing this for me. It scares me that I know Jack is looking for me. I don’t know for sure but he always comes looking for me and I couldn’t live with myself if he hurt someone because of me. I cant let him hurt Joe”
“You like him huh?” She asks
“Joe?”
“Mh”
“Oh no. Its nothing like that, he’s doing so much for me and I don’t want him to get hurt by Jack. I know what he’s capable of, that’s all”
