"You look amazing" Joe tells me as we walk into my workplace, Im the boss' assistant yet my ex is the boss' son
"Demi" Wilmer walks over to me "Come with me"
"No Wilmer" I say, taking Joe's hand and walking away from Wilmer
"Demi" Miley comes walking over shaking her hips as she always does, Miley is an amazing friend but she's a player "Who's your friend?" She asks not taking her eyes of Joe
"This is Joe, Joe this is Miley. Wilmer's assistant"
"Oh" Joe nods looking away from Miley, she sighs and walks to find another potential shag.
"Im sorry about her"
"Usually im aware of the players and the different cliques but now im just cautious" He admits
"I shouldnt have brought you here Joe, its too soon. Im sorry"
"Dont be" He smiles slightly "Your helping me. This was a little too fast but we'll get there eventually"
"Do you have a life plan?" I ask him as he takes my hand in his as we walk out
"I used to. I dreamed of getting married, having kids. I never used to have to think about jobs, I thought my job was secure. I want a big family"
"Thats a dream to work for Joe. Sure you cant go back to being a police officer but I think we can get you into something else, bring some money in for you and eventually you can get your own place. One day you'll meet someone who doesnt care that you were once in prison. She'll love you for you and not care about your past"
"Yeah? I sure hope so"
"You will. Im sure of it"
"How about you? You havent told me about your past"
"That is for another day and another conversation, right now is about you"
"Well maybe I want to know"
"Oh my" An elderly couple stop infront of us as were walking home "You two look so cute together"
"Oh- We-" I begin to object but Joe wraps his arm around me
"She's amazing" He smiles and kisses my cheek
"oh my" The old lady smiles "Love lasts forever" She mumbles and they walk away
"Oh wow" I say as we begin walking home again.
