Welcome again to Yoga for Beginners at home!
This part of the Yoga for Beginner series focuses on opening up the hips and introduces some of the more accessible stretches that will help you loosen up the muscles in this area. Because of our sedentary lifestyle these muscles tend to be quite tense. In addition to the sitting, other activities like walking, cycling, running, make these muscles go into continuous cycles of contraction. Therefore it is very important that this tension in the muscles is released.
So... look after your hips! Start with simple lunges and figure 4 openers and slowly you will feel the difference both physically and emotionally! This can be your daily yoga routine, especially if you have a lot of tension in the hips and if it is difficult for you to express your emotions. Did you know that emotions get stored in the hips?
It is great having all of you yoga beginners on board. Let me have any comments and suggestions below. Keep practising!
I would like to give my special thanks to James Molloy who created the beautiful background Indian flute music to go with this video. Check out his YouTube Channel James Molloy Music.
Love and light!
