Feb 7, 2013 Russia_Putin urges 'doubled' efforts to ready Sochi for Olympics
President Vladimir Putin chaired a meeting on Thursday with officials involved in preparations for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, and the heads of companies investing in the games.
The president, who inspected new infrastructure being built in the city earlier in the day, said he was impressed by the progress.
"Sochi is going to provide the most compact route system for the 2014 Games. Bus or railway travel between the coastal cluster and the mountain cluster will take only 30 minutes, which is 4 to 5 times faster than any other Olympic host city could provide."
However, stressed the need to speed up the preparations.
"In order to ensure absolute success, we need to double our efforts and work hard. Not everything is as flawless as we'd like it to be."
