In this video I will be demonstrating how to construct a cosplay shield using EVA foam. This tutorial will be the start of a small DIY series to achieve a set costume of a ‘Level 2 Spearton/Spartan from Stick Wars Legacy’. So some future videos will be the Spearton sword, spear and helmet. if you don’t know what ‘Stick Wars’ is, it’s a short strategy game series as you play as the Leader of the Order Empire of Inamorata intending to capture all territories using the technologies you discover along the way.
Materials used:
EVA foam, craft foam, hot glue, plywood, leather belt, gap filler (multipurpose acrylic putty and silicone), PVA wood glue, Grey spray primmer, Aluminium spray paint, acrylic paint (black, brown, gold, red, etc.), masking tape, Aluminium foil, brown paper, paint thinner, etc.
Tools used:
Stanley Knife, hot glue gun, heat gun (hair dryer), curved item (a dished item with a shield like curve), air brush, cutting board, jig saw, clamps, pens, scissors, rulers, pop rivet, etc.
About 6 years ago, I remember I would come home and open up my favourite stick game page and play for a while. My most favourite one was ‘Stick Wars’ by Jason Whitham & Brock White. Fast forward a few years, and they published the app ‘Stick Wars Legacy’, I’ve been playing that when I’m bored. So it came to my attention that I want replica items of the Spearton warriors.
