MIH – SPARTAN SWORD – DIY WOOD WORKING – EASY
Basically in most replica “DIY” tutorials you will be these great makers create amazing things out of wood, plastic, foam, resin, etc. But, as a usual person with limited material options and no workshop fitted with the best motorised tools to overcome every building task, we cannot replicate this on a simple DIY scale.
However in this video, I will be demonstrating how easy it is to build a professional looking wooden sword without the use of fancy uncommon tools (except when I used an air brush for a nicer finish, but I could have bought the right spray paint) that anyone can follow. In my build I used simple plywood (but I do recommend using your local hard wood) and tools that I think are commonly found in every garage/shed.

Materials used:
12mm and 4mm plywood (recommend any hard wood), PVA wood glue, multipurpose gap filler, spray paint (grey primmer, silver/aluminium, charcoal, almond/brown, clear gloss, etc.), acrylic paint (gold, lamp black, yellow ochre, paynes grey, raw umber, burnt sienna, etc.), paint thinner, etc.
Tools used:
Ruler, pen/pencil, F clamps, weight, jig saw (can be replaced by any arm powered saw), files/rasps, sand paper (40 to 120 grit), masking tape, paint brushes, air brush, a rag, etc.
