In this tutorial I will be showing how easy it is to construct a prop replica of Gary’s blaster from ‘Netflix’s Final Space’ out of MDF. This is a simple build and the only major power tools you will need in a jigsaw, a hand drill, and a sander. Now in the vid I tried to limit using uncommon tools like a rotary but did use it to fix a mistake and to save time cutting out the plastic details and grinding out the barrel.
Materials used:
MDF (3 and 9mm sheets, + saw dust), PVC sheets (large tube that was cut and heat formed flat), wood glue, supper glue (thick and thin kinds), automotive body filler, plaster gap filler (heavy duty and fine), spray paints (grey primer, steel grey, aluminium/silver, gloss green, satin clear), acrylic paints (grey, black, silver, white, brown, gold, red, blue, orange, etc.).
Tools used:
Jig saw, coping saw, hand saw, drill + bits, clamps/weights, brushes, masking tape, rotary tool (sanding drum, cut off disk, cone grinding bit, etc.), heat gun, etc.

Sorry that this build took forever, I lost motivation during the pandemic. However, I realised the reason for this laziness and working to improve my productivity. So do stay tuned to Make It Happen because I have a line up of projects which will be exciting. Alex.
