The head of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, gave a press conference on Saturday, summing up a meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bankers in Moscow.
Commenting on fears of "currency wars" between rival economies seeking to devalue their currencies, she said: "Frankly we are not seeing that at the moment, but it is something that we need to be attentive to, that we need to be alerted on, and that is clearly based on cooperation."
Lagarde also stressed that G20 economies have shown a commitment to preventing unfair competition through currency devaluations.
"As opposed to division, we have seen, on the occasion of this G20, cooperation - and this is very directly reflected in the communiqué language", she said.
