LMN J Music Top 30 Countdown: 2012.01.19 ~Chapitel 2~
With the latest futuristic design in place, the second weekly countdown of 2012 shall begin. This may be the most unpredictable Top 30 to date.
The Previews from two weeks ago (...according to the countdown date that is...) featured new songs from Acid Black Cherry, ViViD, and HERO --- all of whom have taken the throne at least once during 2011. Yet the two biggest threats to dethrone vistlip are most likely not what you would have expected.
Long story short, the two highest ranked debuts are absolutely amazing. The highest ranked debut defines the element of originality and eternal addiction --- I will make it clear that the song itself ranked only 7th overall in viewer votes, but when I've listened to it over 100 times in the past seven days, there is no question where it deserves to rank. The lyrics, to me, define a fairytale from a romantic love affair, and the way the vocalist carries out the words in sync with the BGM simply blows my mind straight to eternal heaven. As for the second highest ranked song, the vocals continue to blow me away following that gem released in 2011, and the PV is worthy of five stars without a doubt.
The songs ranked no.21-18 are all projected to rise over the next few weeks, as the addiction has just now begun.
I feel like I owe an explanation for no.9 as I'm sure a lot of people expected it to rank much higher. 'Disappointed' is all I can say. The song is not bad by any means, but it's just not what I want out of a band that was so amazing only a year ago. To be brutally honest, this latest single is borderline J-pop and the band appears only one or two singles away from becoming a complete sell out. I just don't know what to think anymore - it made the Top 10 but only because of the heavy favoring in the viewer voting. Otherwise, it may have not even made the Top 30 at all.....
