Senior Citizens and Elderly | Strength and Muscle Mass | Biomarkers of Health | American Council on Aging

Years ago the American Council on Aging put together a list of the ten most important biomarkers of health for senior citizens and elderly – The first two on this list are Strength and Muscle Mass. These are the MOST important of the two, in my opinion because all functional ability and balance point directly back to this.

Our muscle system truly sustains us more than most people know, simply by adding muscle to our bodies, and this goes double for senior citizens and elderly, we truly become genetically biologically younger by adding this strength to our bodies.

My heart is specifically oriented towards senior citizens and elderly – because of “gym mythology” there are beliefs that keep you from getting the exact benefits that you should be getting – it is intensity of work and effort that makes us younger.
