Getting started with exercise (or any project) isn't always the easiest thing. Near the 4 minute mark on this video I talk about the process I use to start motivating myself for absolutely anything - and it works wonders for beginning doing high intensity strength training.

Our human minds tend to convince us to focus on the easiest and smallest tasks first, and yet it is usually our big audacious goals that get put to the side in favor of completing the smaller, less impactful actions.

So this beginner exercise and workout motivation trick allows our mind to almost effortlessly complete the tasks needed to accomplish our larger goals - IN TWO STEPS -

1. Break up your process of starting exercise into MANY smaller and easier tasks to complete - this could be:

Research -- Chose a Plan -- Visit Gyms -- Compare Pricing -- Assess Goals -- Have First Workout -- Develop a Workout A, B, and C -- ECT...

2. Tell yourself that you only need to work out for 5 minutes and get started! By the end of the five minutes, you'll typically just naturally finish your workout session or come very close to it. And every time you go to start a workout and feel resistance to it, just tell yourself that all you need is 5 minutes.
