My ONE Message to Elderly and Seniors about Health, Longevity, Exercise, Fitness, and Medicine!
If I could give one specific piece of advice to anyone who is a senior citizen, elderly, or aging, anyone who has any joint problems or prior injuries that has made them ASSUME they couldn't do real productive exercise - YOU CAN!
Do SOME sort of INTENSE strength training! It must be challenging enough to produce an adaptive response!
The keys to this are to move SLOWLY while doing intense muscular work, to do it in such a way that protects your joints, by knowing how to set up all of the strength training machines you can encounter in the wild.
I focus on machines, because they are safer than other ways, ESPECIALLY for elderly or senior citizen clients.
This way of exercising is unique because it accounts for any problem, keeping you safe, IF PERFROMED PROPERLY.
