Getting started with exercise and fitness at any age isn't the easiest thing – but especially being a senior or elderly, what exercise advice do you follow, with all the options out there? Biologically, to reverse the effects of aging, all that's NECESSARY is doing strength training to a high degree of intensity.
The key to getting the health benefits for exercise that we are after is INTENSITY of effort. If it feels like you aren't doing enough work, if it's all really easy, then you are not getting but a tiny fraction of the results you deserve!
