RESPONSE to OMAR ISUF about Jeff Cavaliere Athlean X (Fake Weights NOT a mark on Jeff's Character?!)
I respect Omar highly as a content creator in the fitness industry, but Jeff Cavaliere's fraud is NOT simply the result of an industry that lends pressure to looking strong. We all feel that pressure. I do. Omar does. But we don't lie. We don't do what he did. We make the right choice.
It was Jeff Cavaliere's choice to buy fake weights and use them repeatedly on camera with the intent to deceive.
It was Jeff Cavaliere's choice to say that he was lifting those weights, even though it was a lie.
It was Jeff Cavaliere's choice to accept the praise of thousands of fans for something he lied to them about.
It was Jeff Cavaliere's choice to never address the issue like a man and instead divert attention with immature jokes about peeing in a cup.
It was Jeff Cavaliere's choice to respond by posting a cat-backed defecating dog deadlift that millions of lifters will see, many will copy, and hundreds if not thousands will injury themselves doing. That's on him. And he either doesn't give a fuck, or his empathy is so bottom barrel that he doesn't even realize it over the need to pump up his own ego.
And it was Omar's choice to say that he's not sure if the weights are fake or not, when he absolutely has the knowledge and experience to know that they clearly are.
it was Omar's choice to say that using fake weights is not a mark on Jeff Cavaliere's character but merely the results of systemic pressure that YouTubers face.
Let us not accept fraud, scammers, liars and cheats, but have the integrity and courage to call them out, even if it is inconvenient or painful.
