How do you tighten your stomach back up after pregnancy (or reduce the pooch or “mommy tummy”)? Most pregnancies result in some degree of diastasis recti (the separation of the abdominal muscles from stretching). The severity and the time required for healing is different from person to person. During healing, even after you have received clearance from your doctor to exercise, certain movements should be avoided (such as crunches, twisting, and prone exercises such as planks). This follow along workout is comprised of safer ab strengthening options to minimize risk of injury and help reactivate the deeper core muscles such as the transversus abdominis and diaphragm.
This video is not intended to diagnose or treat any medical conditions or illnesses and it is strongly recommended to get clearance from your physician before beginning any exercise program.
