This is a quick demonstration of how to perform the standing TFL stretch. The TFL (tensor fasciae latae) is an important hip flexor muscle that, when tight, can contribute to IT band pain (knee pain), tight hips/lack of hip mobility, and low back pain. For athletes and active people, the right TFL can also limit hip extension and hip power. This standing variation is a good alternative when kneeling variations aren’t possible due to knee pain or other reasons.
