Free Will and Free Won’t: a Sufi View of Power and Authority

In the 1970s, Dr. Benjamin Libet conducted a series of experiments that demonstrated the lag time between the unconscious decision to do something and the conscious “choice” to do the action. From this study, various scientists have concluded that there is no real free will, and that we are purely just stimulus-response machines.
We would like to suggest that there is something hidden in studies like this that has been more than a bit overlooked and under-explored, and that “something” will be the topic of this evening’s talk.
So please join us for what will be a very interesting and somewhat controversial conversation as we explore the power of free will, free “won’t”, and the magic of NO.
