"Choice is an illusion created between those with power and those without."
~ The Merovingian (The Matrix Reloaded)
We are often offered choices, much like Neo in “The Matrix”, between two alternatives. Red pill, or blue pill? The fantastical depiction of Neo’s experience aside, these moments in which we must make a decision occur in every life, and on a regular basis.
The problems come when the choices presented to us lead us to accept a false dichotomy as truth. Holding fast to a false dichotomy can keep a person thoroughly trapped in their mechanical behavior.
How do we avoid this trap? Let’s spend an hour or so examining the possibilities.
