Day 24 of Morning Pages. One of the main things the morning pages has taught me is how to write without judgment. I was able to do this before, to an extent, but I've stepped up my game. I believe this also has to do with writing for 20+ years. I just don't have it in me to be so critical anymore. For years, I've stressed about writing. I had to get it perfect and make sure I was saying exactly what I wanted to say. I still care how the end product comes out—and I want to express myself as I intend—but I am no longer interested in dealing with the endless, and exhausting, stress of perfectionism. When I show up to these pages, I give them my full attention, and that is the key. So long as I am 100% present, I am doing my job. I cannot rush my development as a writer, which, looking back, I always wanted to. I always wanted to be way ahead of where I was. I was not happy in the now. Thankfully, I finally feel good with where I'm at. What a feeling!

Morning Pages are “three pages of longhand writing, strictly stream-of-consciousness.” Julia Cameron is the creator of the Morning Pages. She writes about them in her book THE ARTIST’S WAY.

I'm doing these for 30 days, hopefully longer. As soon as I wake up, I write whatever comes to mind. I don't care about grammar; I don't care about subject matter; I don't care about anything but writing. It takes about 20-25 minutes. If you like, feel free to join in on the fun!

Also, if you do the Morning Pages, post how it's going in the comments. I am genuinely interested and will read and respond to all comments. That is all.
